  • Mohammad Jamil

    Chairman

    Born in 1956, Mohammad is a self-made entrepreneur, property developer and philanthropist, fuelled by a profound passion for business. Rooted in a family history of clothing manufacturing dating back to 1928 in Manchester, this legacy instilled in him a robust work ethic and a commitment to success.

    His journey commenced in 1976 within the family clothing business, progressing from ground-level roles to eventually becoming the Managing Director. Overseeing operations across three sites, he managed a workforce of 400 employees producing over 40,000 garments weekly.

    In 1986, a new chapter unfolded with Mohammad’s establishment of the Britannia Group, marking the start of a prosperous venture into property development. Notable and diverse achievements include the Tatton Arms and Scala Development ventures.

    Mohammad’s portfolio expanded with the Old House at Home in West Didsbury and continues with the management of Swan House, a £105 million PRS scheme as well as overseeing the Victoria Park Development, a £21 million project offering 72 residential apartments and houses.

  • Hamza Ibrahim Jamil

    Senior Executive

    Hamza has worked tirelessly since 2011 to lead the day-to-day operation of Britannia Group, managing, modernising, and multiplying around £20m worth of assets and recently completing the £6.35m development of 12 houses in West Didsbury. His eye for land potential and conceptualisation of design allows him to operate smartly in the land market, purchasing quality sites and executing plans to finalisation.

    His innovative nature was the foundation for the transformation of Britannia Group’s rental portfolio to serviced accommodation, almost doubling revenue in one year.

    Hamza’s passion for business is not limited to property, but any business which can provide a solid foundation for future growth whilst being beneficial to the community.

    With a track record of success in the UK, Hamza has undertaken the task of overseas expansion for Britannia in emerging markets.

  • Hassan Ibrahim Jamil

    Director of Business Development

    Hassan, immersed in the family business since a young age, uniquely aligns Britannia Group's core values with innovative ventures both within and beyond the property sector.

    With a professional background in data, including roles at the BBC and PwC, Hassan returned to Britannia Group with a mission to diversify income streams and lead Shariah-compliant property development. Notably, over £1.5m has been committed to such projects to date.

    Passionate about bolstering the strength and well-being of underserved communities in the UK, Hassan is committed to empowering the Muslim community. Guided by a strategic vision firmly grounded in ethical business practices, he welcomes discussions with like-minded partners interested in collaborative endeavours based on these shared values.

  • Ahmad Gardazee

    Finance Business Partner

    Ahmad is a seasoned Financial Management Accountant with a strong background in diverse commercial sectors. With a track record of success, he excels in providing meticulous financial control to enhance overall business performance.

    His expertise lies in financial management accountancy, streamlined accounting processes and systems, robust internal controls, efficient management of assets, strategic budget and forecast management, adept relationship management, meticulous audit oversight, and crafting effective financial strategies.

    Ahmad's passion lies in helping businesses thrive, especially those facing challenges. He specializes in offering tailored financial solutions that not only ensure profitability but also foster sustainable growth. He believes in collaborative efforts that result in mutual financial gains.

  • Nick Carter

    Head of Development

    Nick has been a Property Professional for 35 years. He ran a large National Residential Development Company Crosby Homes, part of the hugely successful Berkeley group based in the South East as MD and Northern Chairman.

    He then formed and ran two successful private Development Companies of his own, Millennium Estates and Edenhouse Estates.

    Before joining Britannia, he was a partner in a Private Rental Sector company called Foundation Estates, acquiring planning and forward selling 3 large schemes in Leeds, Salford Quays and Manchester City Centre.

    His development experience spans from developing large luxurious mansions in the leafy suburbs of Cheshire , to cutting edge Urban Regeneration in Manchester City Centre such as Number One Deansgate, Green Quarter and the Haçienda.

    Nick is instrumental in raising the Profile of Britannia Group, to provide controlled expansion in all spheres of development from residential, retail to commercial investment property.

  • Emma O’Rourke

    Head of Property Management

    Emma embarked on her journey in the real estate industry at the young age of 20, taking on the role of a client advisor for a local South Manchester estate agency. Demonstrating exceptional dedication and talent, she ascended the professional ladder, progressing from client advisor to valuer, eventually overseeing the operations of all three branches. Her decade-long tenure there not only solidified her expertise in property but also cultivated her leadership skills.

    After a decade of shaping the success of the local agency, Emma sought new horizons and delved into the world of investments. This phase of her career, which spanned property sourcing and sales to investors across the UK, allowed her to collaborate on various social housing schemes, broadening her impact in the real estate sector.

    Emma's entrepreneurial spirit led her to discover a niche in the property market, specifically in the realm of serviced accommodation and Airbnb. In 2019, she founded her own Airbnb management company, achieving remarkable success until the unforeseen challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a difficult decision to close its doors.

    Undeterred by challenges, Emma brought her wealth of experience and industry knowledge to Britannia in 2022. Her role not only capitalizes on her extensive background in serviced accommodation and property but also reflects her resilience and adaptability in navigating the ever-evolving landscape of the real estate market. Emma continues to be a driving force, contributing her unique insights and expertise to the Britannia team.

  • Safwan Jaffary

    Financial Accountant

    Safwan is our accounting and finance pro, skilled in financial reporting and analysis and adept at optimizing cash management processes.

    A Level III CFA Candidate and ACCA Affiliate with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, he’s fluent in English and Urdu, with a solid understanding of European Portuguese and Arabic.

    When not crunching numbers, you'll find him enjoying football, cricket and tennis or unwinding with a good movie or TV series.

  • Steve Beckett

    Contracts and Property Manager

    Steve's career in joinery and construction began in the mid-80s with an apprenticeship at SM Joinery in Northwich, before venturing into self-employment and subsequently co-founding Beckett & Moss Joinery Services in 1997.

    Transitioning to Short Construction Ltd in 2013, Steve excelled as a site manager overseeing notable Britannia projects such as the Old House At Home, delivering exceptional housing standards in Didsbury.

    Moving to Britannia Group in 2021, his role involves dual responsibilities as Property Maintenance Manager and Construction Manager. Here, he ensures property upkeep, including managing the group’s Airbnb listings, and leads the Victoria Park development alongside Nick Carter, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
